Welcome to Monroe Elementary School and thank you for visiting our webpage. This is our first year as an elementary school. We have approximately 45 staff members who are eager to serve our 340 students in grades K-5. Our staff includes; regular education teachers, special education teachers, certified intervention teachers, our certified instructional coach, our school counselor, our school STEM teacher, our speech and OT teachers, our district GATE teacher, our ELL staff, our school nursing staff, our paraprofessional staff who support our certified staff, our office staff, our custodial staff, our lunch room staff, and our school SROs. We are very fortunate to have so many kind and caring people who provide the best services for our children.
Our school is home to the district English Learners’ program. The teachers in this program support students whose native language is not English. In addition, this year our school will pilot a new elementary STEM program. We will have a fulltime STEM teacher in our building who will work with our students and teachers as we implement Science Technology Engineering and MATH standards and concepts into the regular classroom.
We also have a very active PTO in our school. They spend many hours working to support our children and their teachers. Our staff is so grateful for the many things they do to raise additional funding and provide additional support wherever it is needed. If you are interested in volunteering I would encourage you to get involved with our Monroe PTO.
Finally, I would like to invite you to visit our school at any time. As a reminder please be sure and stop by the office and check in prior to visiting your child’s classroom. It is a pleasure to serve as the principal of our school and I look forward to working with you and your children this school year.
